My Floristry Life

Photo of CerusIt's a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the August sun is shining and I’m curled up in a big pink arm chair, plant and floristry books all around me.

Every shelf, window sill and surface is covered in plant designs I have created,  my two dogs are curled up, and a glass of Pimms is by my side. All this, is in preparations, so I can share with you my beautiful life in floristry.

Reminiscing with all my old work photos, it reminds me how fortunate I have been, to be a florist for the last 18 years.

I have so many precious memories of my life with flowers as well as huge pride of what I have achieved.

I was trained by my inspirational Mum, Margaret Jarvis at Woodland Flowers.

From our workbench located in the middle of our peaceful 75 acre woodland, we created the most amazing weddings, stunning tributes and innovative corporate work.

One highlight of my career, was working on a Luncheon for Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth 2.

I'm fortunate to have worked on hundreds of beautiful weddings as well as working in some stunning locations, many owned by the National Trust, beautiful churches and stunning private hotels and homes.

It has been a daily privilege to create amazing work, for our clients who have became friends.

Still working from the same workbench, it's now my turn to start to fly solo.

I founded Botanical Designs in January 2017.

Since I started working with just plants, I have had so much fun.

My creative mind is constantly working overtime.

I create one design, but then can't wait to create the next one.

I'm always rummaging for new and interesting containers in the most unusual of places.

Some of my best finds have been in old junk shops.

Researching exotic and unusual plants has been really interesting and a fabulous learning experience. I have to ensure that the plants that I use are both intriguing as well as long lasting.

Whilst fulfilling my clients brief, I ensure my choices go with the environment I’m supplying for.

Then the design begins, matching up the containers, with the plants to complement and enhance my clients’ businesses.

What could be for fun and rewarding.

I just LOVE it.

I hope you enjoy being friends with me on Facebook, visiting this website and watching my daily posts.

I love to hear what you think, so please leave me a little comment from time to time.

If you have a business or premises that you feel could benefit from some stunning plants for you team and clients to enjoy each day, please get in contact with me. I would be delighted to meet up with you and chat over some ideas and designs.

Take care
