The same vessel, the same shape, the same colours, even the same flowers. And yet, every arrangement would take on a life of its own. That, to me, is where the true magic lies.

Even if I were limited to just one vase and the same forty stems for the rest of my career, no two designs would ever be identical.

Some days, the process would feel effortless. Other days, more challenging. Some pieces I might love more than others. But each one would still hold its own version of beauty—its own unique version of perfect.

That is the passion and love behind everything I create.

It’s also why I sometimes feel a sense of sadness when I walk into department stores and see rows upon rows of identical pieces. There is comfort in sameness—it feels safe, predictable, familiar. But creativity doesn’t live there.

When people come to my workbench and I tell them there are no rules, I often see a flicker of fear in their eyes. A hesitation. A search for guidance, for boundaries, for reassurance that they’re doing it “right.” And I always encourage the same thing: let go.

Let your imagination run wild. Allow your creativity to shine through. Because the moment you embrace that freedom, something extraordinary happens. You begin to see just how unique each element can be—not only in the materials you’re working with, but within yourself.

Every design becomes its own story. Every creation, its own expression. And this extends far beyond floristry. Each of us is constantly creating—through the way we live, the choices we make, and the energy we share with the world. We are all unique compositions, entirely our own. We don’t need anyone else’s approval to be our most authentic selves.

So this February, I invite you to embrace the beauty of difference. To celebrate what makes you unique, imperfect, and entirely your own. Because that is where true beauty lives.

And that is where you will find your most inspiring, captivating self.
